Some thoughts on goblin rock ii

What is Goblin Rock? An EP? A genre of music? We may never know the answer but it seems like more of as state of mind and being than anything else. It makes more sense in the context of how Goblin Rock ii was created. Shut out from the world by the COVID-19 pandemic, trapped in a basement apartment with little sunlight, only leaving for the essentials. This description conjures thoughts of the Tolkien character, Gollum, living in the damp and dark, barely existing. This music comes from living as a goblin would. Not presented through anger but acceptance of the situation, accepting life as a goblin. This is the experience that Eugene Ryoo and Ryan Keating want the listener to experience through Goblin Rock ii. Allow for the experience of living as a goblin, not from the perspective of horror but from one of reality.
